PDF Converter does exactly what it says it does—converts PDF files into RTF (Rich Text) documents, HTML, Plain Text, Image(s), and even SWF (Adobe Flash) files! Although I was skeptical at first when I read what PDF Converter could do, after I installed it and converted a few graphic intensive PDF documents into HTML, RTF, and SWF, I was shocked by how accurately the software had carried out the conversion. Now I cannot live without it. Just imagine—I can convert all those research paper sources quickly into a format that I can use easier than Adobe’s proprietary PDF format—perfect for bookmarking my progress in a PDF file (something that Adobe Reader does not allow), or making excerpting from a PDF easier, and preserving the format almost perfectly each time.
All in all, PDF Converter is a great, lightweight program that does exactly what it says with amazing output quality—I definitely recommend it!
Since MediaVigor is running a brief promotion, PDF Converter is free today only (3/2/2009). That means you have to head over to the Giveaway of the Day site and grab your copy while it is still free.

Have you ever wanted to create your own icons to customize your Windows Computer? Well, then the free, no-install application called ToYcon is just for you! ToYcon converts the popular BMP, JPG, and TGA image file formats into the Windows ICO (icon) file format, and can even convert ICO files into PNG images, so web developers, this might be nifty for you, too! Throughout my testing, I have found ToYcon to be extremely reliable and has lossless quality. It is extremely fast, lightweight (a measly 171 KB), portable (that means you don’t have to install it!), and it even supports the conversion to high quality Vista icons (yep, those big, glassy and cool icons you envy so much) –a feature that very few icon converters possess.
Using ToYcon is easy. All you have to do is drag image(s) or a folder into the little box with the green arrow, and wait the second or two it takes to convert the images into icons. Note that you can also tell ToYcon where you want to dump files to (if, for example you don’t want the icons to be in the same folder as the PNG/BMP/TGA ones).
Have fun!

Media-Convert is an amazing webapp that makes converting from 200+ file formats possible. The wonderful thing about it is that no download is necessary—all files that you want to convert are uploaded to their servers, processed, and then handed back in the form of a link that you can use to either download or share (the file is sharable for 24 hours). Of course, the downside to this is that a large upload would take a considerably longer time to upload and then download again, but this webapp is sure to be useful in those “oops, your computer is too old and doesn’t support this format!” moments.
Media-Convert also does not require registration to use—all you have to do is upload a file, select from the numerous file formats you can convert it to, and click the OK button. Wait for it to finish doing its thing, and viola! You’re ready to go. Oh—and you can also convert files directly from FTP, a website, or a website screenshot!
When I first stumbled upon this phenomenal webapp a month ago, I was very skeptical to see if this actually worked. I thought that there might be a loss in quality, or things might be
